WikiLeaks was down for the count longer than The Pirate Bay.
On Wednesday The Pirate Bay mentioned on its Facebook page that Wikileaks was also under a DDoS attack. WikiLeaks confirmed the report via Twitter, stating that the whistle blowing site had been under sustained DDoS attacks over the last 72 hours. The site's «www» address wasn't affected, but the main wikileaks.org URL appeared to be the target. Currently both are now up and running.

A Samsung official told a Korean newspaper the company has received a whopping nine million carrier pre-orders for its next flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III. The new phone, which is set to go on sale May 29 in Germany before releasing in other countries, is currently being manufactured at a South Korean facility.

It’s believed that Steve Jobs was widely involved with Apple product development that stretched years into the future, and a new report from Bloomberg seems to confirm that in part. The publication reports that Jobs was closely involved with the development of the next iPhone. Most notably, he was overseeing the redesign of the phone right up until his death late last year. The report also corroborates The Wall Street Journal and Reuters information that the next iPhone will have a larger screen.

While we’re all getting pumped up for Prometheus, RIdley Scott is going to revisit another movie he directed in the not too distant future. It was announced back in August that Scott would helm an upcoming Blade Runner movie, and today it’s been revealed that the movie will be a sequel to the original starring Harrison Ford. Not only that, but the original writer of Blade Runner is onboard the project to help develop a story.

When will the pain end? Not anytime soon, apparently. Rovio is content to milk the Angry Birds franchise for all it’s worth, announcing that the next installment will involve motor racing. Angry Birds Heikki will be a web-based game that will launch on June 18th. Rovio say that the game won’t be a radical departure from existing Angry Birds games, but will feature “racing themes.”

Earlier this week, The Pirate Bay was the victim of a massive denial of service attack that brought down the site for over a day. The DDoS attack was launched a few days after the site criticized the hacker group Anonymous who said they launched their own attacks on Virgin Media. Anonymous claimed they were trying to protest Virgin Media's court ordered decision to block The Pirate Bay from their ISP users in the UK. The Pirate Bay said Anonymous' attacks were in fact their own kind of censorship.
