It’s time to get physical with Google Play, the online media store where Google sells apps, music, and movies, because the big G has just revealed gift cards for retail. Just like Apple’s mega-popular iTunes Gift Card initiative, Google is bringing on at least two cards to the show, prepping them for the likes of Target, Best Buy, Fry’s, and retail locations across the United States. Google has not yet officially let it be known that these cards exist, but there they are, plain as day.

It appears that the blogging platform backing up Rueters news source has been hacked twice in two weeks, the most recent being this past weekend with a false death announcement being posted as a result. At the moment Rueters officials have not announced any suspects, nor have they got any information they want to share with the public at the moment. What they do know, though, is that their blue had been hacked once before, earlier this month, when the result was similar – the hackers simply posted a rather legitimate-looking post regarding events closely related to the subject of the newest “attack.”

This week the mobile device patent and design court case between Apple and Samsung is coming to final resting points starting with Samsung asking for a sum of $421.8 million from Apple if infringements are found valid. Samsung’s offensive piece of this trial has them working with three utility patents covering photo browsing, music playback, and email, with damages being limited to reasonable royalty rates alone. The reason for the limitation to royalty rates is that Samsung has not found themselves to have lost any sales due to the infringement they claim.

Facebook today hit a brand new low, closing at $19.87 a share but dipping mid-day to $19.69, the lowest the social network’s worth has ever been. Facebook is currently down 48% from its original $38 per share offering price at the start, the company sitting at $48 billion in market capitalization – this down more than $40 billion since stocks became available.
