A Samsung official told a Korean newspaper the company has received a whopping nine million carrier pre-orders for its next flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S III. The new phone, which is set to go on sale May 29 in Germany before releasing in other countries, is currently being manufactured at a South Korean facility.

Google should, they argue, prioritize Android users – after all, they’re the ones who have already supported the search giant by buying an Android device in the first place. A new study has found that while mobile gaming has seen sharp increases across the board, there is no doubt who the winner is when it comes to how much customers are actually spending on their mobile game experiences. The average iPhone/iPad gamer is spending about five times more money on their mobile games than the average Android gamer. That is the result found from research firm Newzoo, which looked at actual data from iOS and Android downloads as well as 17,000 survey respondants.

This device is set to be Samsung’s new hero device and will be announced at the start of May at a special Samsung event, with no less than a 12 megapixel camera on the back and an advanced display on the front made to make the rest of the smartphone world look dated. This device appears to be a bit heavier yet thinner at the same time than Samsung’s current Galaxy S II line.

Huawei has announced launch details for its super-slim Ascend P1 Android smartphone, the 7.69mm thick Ice Cream Sandwich handset unveiled at CES 2012 back in January. The Ascend P1 will hit operators and retailers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia by May, followed by Latin America from June, and with Europe getting the handset from the summer. Other markets however, including North America, will have to wait until after that.
