Intel has started shipping the long-awaited Ivy-Bridge processors to manufacturers while retailers will begin receiving the processors later this week.
Intel officially announced 14 different i5 and i7 processors all freaturing their new 22nm chip architecture compared to the last generations 32nm architecture. The smaller architecture means faster clock speeds and lower power consumption, which is incredibly beneficial to mobile users.

Another day, another next-generation console rumor. Once again, the specifications for the Xbox 720 are being hinted at. Previously we’d heard that the Xbox 720 will come in two flavours: a low-power and basic ARM version that will run apps, and the “main” console. The more powerful of the two was tipped to have two GPUs that could render graphics independant of each other, and a new rumor indicates the Xbox 720 could have a CPU with 16 cores.

Furthermore, the second-generation of ultrabooks is expected to arrive in May. Though the iPad 3 just launched less than a month ago, excitement for the iPhone 5 is building every day. Apple is, as usual, trying to keep the leaking of any real information about the device to a minimum. The rumor mill is going at full tilt, but with Apple not expected to unveil the new device until WWDC in June, very little is known about the iPhone 5. However, today brings yet another juicy piece of gossip. According to the latest scuttlebutt, the iPhone 5 will have 1GB of RAM and a special version of the A5X chip.

AMD will be reacting to the launch of Intel's Ivy Bridge processors with four new FX CPUs that are slotted for a Q2 release.
In the mainstream, AMD will be adding the FX-6130 to complement its the 6-core FX-6100 and FX-6200 with a 3.9 GHz/ 3.6 GHz version. In the entry level area, AMD is now listing the quad-core FX-4130 with 3.9 GHz/3.8 GHz. Both processors are 125 watt parts.
