It’s believed that Steve Jobs was widely involved with Apple product development that stretched years into the future, and a new report from Bloomberg seems to confirm that in part. The publication reports that Jobs was closely involved with the development of the next iPhone. Most notably, he was overseeing the redesign of the phone right up until his death late last year. The report also corroborates The Wall Street Journal and Reuters information that the next iPhone will have a larger screen.

Towards the end of March it was revealed that FreedomPop was planning to launch a WiMAX iPhone case that would provide 1GB of data for free. The case would come with a deposit of $99 that would be refunded upon returning the case, with the company hoping to take advantage of a freemium model by converting customers to a paid model further down the road. FreedomPop is now available for pre-order, although the product has been tweaked slightly.

The release of Google+ for iPhone v2.0 today has already got Android lovers up in arms, furious at what they see as favoritism for the rival platform. Google should, they argue, prioritize Android users – after all, they’re the ones who have already supported the search giant by buying an Android device in the first place. But social networks online – just as is so often the case with their real-world counterparts – can be tricky and treacherous things. The blunt truth is that Google needs to convince Apple users more than it does those of Android.

A new study has found that while mobile gaming has seen sharp increases across the board, there is no doubt who the winner is when it comes to how much customers are actually spending on their mobile game experiences. The average iPhone/iPad gamer is spending about five times more money on their mobile games than the average Android gamer. That is the result found from research firm Newzoo, which looked at actual data from iOS and Android downloads as well as 17,000 survey respondants.
