Sony is trying to figure out how to make its premium PlayStation Plus service more appealing to gamers. The company has recently sent out a survey that hints at ideas that it is thinking about with regard to new features that might one day be added to the PlayStation Plus package. Of course, nothing is confirmed but at this point Sony is trying to increase its subscriber base as much as possible.

The latest version of Android is now landing on Sony’s Tablet S. Version 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich, is now being rolled out to device owners in the US. Ice Cream Sandwich is one of the biggest updates to Android yet, and includes such features as scanning your face to unlock the phone, a much more robust speech-to-text software program, and an entire platform of data sharing that focuses on Near Field Communication (NFC).

Sony has restored a pair of downloadable PSP games to the PlayStation Store after it previously pulled them because of hacking concerns. The games were blamed for having loopholes within their coding that allowed hackers to exploit the entire portable system. The issue first arose with the digital download version of the PSP game Motorstorm: Arctic Edge contained code that could be exploited by a third party when executed on the Vita.

Sony has released the PlayStation Suite Developer Program open beta, as promised, enabling coders to create games for the PS Vita, PlayStation-certified phones and tablets, and more. Available for PC only, the PlayStation Suite SDK 0.98 includes the PC Suite Studio and UI Composer for creating interfaces that take advantage of physical and touchscreen controls, as well as a simulator for testing out your handiwork.

For the first time, a colorful version of Sony’s PS3 console is making its way to a country other than Japan. Unfortunately for those in the US, the chosen country is on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, over in the UK. But hopefully that might mean that Sony has plans to release a special-colored PS3 in other regions of the world as well. After all, “piano black” can only be exciting for so long.
